April 4, 4008 - BEARS HOST MOELLER SATURDAY

The Upper Arlington Golden Bears return to Marv Moorhead Stadium Saturday night, hosting Archbishop Moeller at 7:30 pm, the second game of the season for both teams. The JV Bears play at 5:30 pm.

Moeller is 1-0 after a 7-6 win over Thomas Worthington to open the season. The Fighting Crusaders got the attention of UA Head Coach Ted Wolford. "They return three really good attackmen," Wolford said. "It should be a very interesting game and a chance for us to get pushed early in the season."

Senior Sean Finegan has been Moeller's most productive attackman with 65 points last season. He was named first-team All-Midwest and All-Ohio. He signed with Delaware last spring. Fellow senior Alex Hofrichter commited to Stevens Institute of Technology in Division III.

The Golden Bears beat Moeller twice last season en route to their fourth straight Ohio High School Lacrosse Association title. "They always have a number of good athletes with a school that size and no doubt that will be the case again," said the Golden Bear coach. "They are solid, have an athletic goalie and played well against Thomas."

Wolford said his team has tried to catch up on their preparation after a short pre-season and trip to Western Pennsylvania for four scrimmages. The Bears are also 1-0 after beating Hilliard Darby at home March 26th. UA is ranked 15th nationally and second in the Midwest in the STX-Inside Lacrosse poll. Moeller is ranked 9th in the Midwest. Michigan's Brother Rice is 3-0 and ranked first in the Midwest.
